Today, as I skimmed through my closet and grabbed one of my favorite new shirts, I thought to myself, “I’ll just go without a Thompson Tee today, I don’t need it. I don’t have much going on and I haven’t really been sweating much recently”. This is a RVCA light red short-sleeve button up shirt that I picked up recently from a local surf store (I’m not a surfer, but I do like their style!)
Of course, just like any day does, it didn’t go as planned. A few hours later I found myself in a conference room having a very difficult but necessary conversation with an employee. The conversation quickly got tense and emotions were running high. So naturally, my armpits start to perspire as a reaction to the stressful environment. It’s something I almost never worry about anymore because I usually don’t leave home without a Thompson Tee. So there I am, angry at myself for choosing not to wear the Thompson Tee that morning, and stressing out more than I needed to during the conversation because now I’m focused on that fact that I am sweating which just causes more anxiousness and sweat! Another critical and unnecessary thought going through my mind is the lack of control I feel like I’m displaying in the situation due to the fact that I’m sweating.
Oh well, onward and upward…but this time with a Thompson Tee on.
How about you? Any times that you’ve had the solution sitting in your closet but chose to go without and regretted it? Do you use the Thompson Tee in only situational solutions or full-time? Share your thoughts.
